Tender flank steak and crisp broccoli tossed in a savory garlic-ginger stir-fry sauce.
1 1/2 pounds flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon canola oil
For the sauce:
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1/2 cup beef broth
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1. Coat sliced beef with oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, and baking soda.
2. Whisk the sauce ingredients together.
3. Heat oil over medium-high heat and brown beef in batches.
4. Add broccoli and sauce to the skillet.
5. Cover and cook about 3 minutes until broccoli is crisp-tender.
6. Stir to coat and serve hot.
Slice flank steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
Cook beef in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
Stir the sauce before adding because the cornstarch settles.
