Tender shrimp and spaghetti tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with fresh lemon juice, parsley, and Parmesan cheese.
12 oz spaghetti
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp olive oil
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup reserved pasta water
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
2. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
3. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet. Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side, then set aside.
4. Melt remaining butter. Add garlic and cook 30–60 seconds.
5. Stir in lemon juice and a few tablespoons of pasta water.
6. Add spaghetti and toss until coated.
7. Return shrimp to skillet. Add Parmesan and parsley.
8. Adjust seasoning and serve immediately.
Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
Do not overcook the shrimp.
Add pasta water gradually for a silky sauce.
Linguine or fettuccine can replace spaghetti.
Add extra red pepper flakes for more heat.
