A hearty one-pot dish blending spiced potatoes, smoked turkey sausage, and green beans in a slow cooker. Rich with buttery seasoning and smoky depth, it’s a low-maintenance, crowd-pleasing recipe perfect for busy cooks.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs yellow potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
½ cup yellow or red onion, diced
12 oz smoked turkey sausage, sliced (chicken or tofu may be substituted)
2 cans cut green beans, drained (or fresh)
½ cup unsalted butter, 1 stick preserved
1 packet Italian dressing seasoning (0.6 oz; ~2 tsp salt)
1 tsp garlic powder (or fresh minced garlic)

Instructions

Prepare Potatoes: Layer quartered potatoes in crock pot. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika
Add Base Layers: Toss in diced onion to coat; spread sliced turkey sausage over the top
Green Beans & Seasoning: Cover with drained green beans; sprinkle Italian dressing mix evenly over the layered ingredients
Butter Placement: Place butter cube on top. Avoid stirring to preserve texture

Notes

Use a small ramekin to hold butter above sauce; melts gradually and prevents greasy spots
Check canned green beans for brine residue; drain thoroughly to avoid sogginess
Opt for smoked turkey sausage for a leaner base; vegetarian options use tofu
