A savory ground beef casserole with buttery mushrooms, creamy cheese filling, and melted cheese on top.
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp dried parsley
3 large eggs
2 tbsp butter
1 lb mushrooms, sliced
6 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded or grated Parmesan, mozzarella, or cheddar cheese
Bread crumbs or crushed crackers, optional
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Brown beef, season, drain, and cool slightly.
3. Beat cream cheese with eggs and mix with beef.
4. Transfer beef mixture to a small baking dish.
5. Sauté mushrooms in butter with seasonings until browned.
6. Spread mushrooms over beef and bake 20–25 minutes.
7. Add optional crumbs during the last 10 minutes.
8. Top with cheese and bake until melted.
9. Rest briefly and serve.
Cook mushrooms until excess moisture evaporates.
Use Parmesan, mozzarella, cheddar, or a combination.
Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3–4 days.
