Ingredients

Scale

1 1/3 cups uncooked long-grain white rice

2 2/3 cups chicken broth

1 pound large or jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons butter, melted and divided

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 1/2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Chopped parsley, optional

Instructions

1. Combine Cajun seasoning ingredients.

2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

3. Stir in garlic, half the seasoning, and rice.

4. Add broth, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

5. Toss shrimp with remaining melted butter and Cajun seasoning.

6. Stir shrimp into rice, cover, and cook 3–5 minutes until done.

7. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Reduce cayenne and red pepper flakes for a milder dish.

Use regular long-grain white rice rather than instant rice.

Thaw frozen shrimp completely before cooking.
