Crispy pita pockets stuffed with a savory, spiced kafta-style meat mixture, grilled to perfection.
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 medium onion, grated
1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp Lebanese 7-spice
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4-5 pita breads
2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
1. Mix meat, onion, parsley, and spices in a bowl.
2. Cut pitas in half to create pockets.
3. Spread a thin layer of meat mixture inside each pita.
4. Brush the outside of the pitas with olive oil.
5. Grill on a pan over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side.
6. Serve hot with tahini or garlic sauce.
Use ground lamb for a richer flavor.
Ensure meat is spread thin for even cooking.
Best served with fresh Tabbouleh or Fattoush.
