3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves fresh garlic, smashed

2 sprigs fresh thyme

1 tablespoon high-smoke point oil

Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

1.Bring steaks to room temperature.

2.Season generously with salt and pepper.

3.Heat skillet until smoking hot.

4.Sear steak until a crust forms.

5.Add butter, garlic, and thyme.
